My vote for the Heisman tonight goes to Florida's Tim Tembow, the first NCAA quarterback to throw and rush for twenty touchdowns in a single season. If he gets the nod, it will be the first time an underclassman has ever taken home the bronze statue. If he does not win, the Florida native will fall victim to the Most Outstanding Player vs. Most Valuable Player debate, and join the list of others who should have won, but didn't. jmj ... My vote goes to Arkansas's (the spelling of which is a fascinating debate in its own right) Darren McFadden. Note, some reports state that no one ever passed and rushed for 20TD's in 'major college football', while others say in 'NCAA history'. I feel like there may actually be an important distinction between the two phrases. Someone may have done it in D2 or D3 and major news sources reporting "NCAA history' may be misleading to us and simply lazy journalism. But i can't confirm or deny that. glc

Donate rice by getting vocab questions correct. Hint: a wanderlust is an urge to travel. I missed that one. I should have never punched that guy in the throat for asking if my parents had a wanderlust. You live and learn. (Mo on the assist) tjc
First there was The White Stripes' "Fell In Love With A Girl," clever in its discriminatory non-use of LEGO people in its LEGO animation. Then Red Hot Chili Peppers held a you-make-the-video contest on YouTube for "Charlie" from Stadium Arcadium. LEGOmation made it's presence felt and couldn't stop there. It kept going and going and didn't always get better. Where does it end? Yellowcard, Rammstein, Jars of Clay? Go ahead and accuse me of being a purist but I prefer my LEGOmation in the form of some dogface Monty Python dialogue. tjc
Google leads the pack toward the gold in green. American companies and venture capitalists are following suit and getting into the market for solar, wind and geothermal energies. tjc
Clean energy is already creating its billionaires: Shi Zhengrong, for example, who in 2001 created the company Suntech, making solar cells, is now China's second wealthiest man.
The Wisdom of the Political Crowd is explored at Slate. Can you tell the future (and not just in politics)? Did I mention you can get paid? tjc
