NPR's All Songs Considered released its Summer Music Preview this past Monday. Making the cut is a one of my favorite bands, Delta Spirit. Gerard and I discovered them in March of 2007 when they opened up for the Cold War Kids and Tokyo Police Club at the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia. We're going to see them again this Saturday at The Khyber.
I've even had the privilege of interviewing them a few months back when I used to write for another website. jmj

The Fresno State University baseball team won the NCAA Division I Championship yesterday by defeating the University of Georgia in the best of three College World Series finals yesterday. While this may not seem like a big deal to the average sports fan, it needs to be put into perspective. Fresno State was the equivalent of a 13 seed in NCAA Basketball tournament, making them the lowest seed to win a championship in any sport in the history of the NCAA. jmj

Two weeks ago, John McCain admitted that he is "computer illiterate" and has to rely on his wife for help with the computer. I don't think that this piece of news received the amount of attention that it should have. As I mentioned before, being computer illiterate will soon be just as bad as being illiterate. jmj
