A collection of blackboard markups of various notables - from Brian Eno to Albert Einstein. Check out the Martin Rees job. Overall, a good cross-section of blackboard users, like the soccer coach. (from the Frak) tjc

I was driving to work yesterday listening to Michael Smerconish when he discussed how Google is tracking flu trends. I knew Kottke was going to beat me to it since the memeticians did not have a Hypertext Bazaar yesterday. Damn it. This does, however, bring up "Big Brother" issues. jmj

In response to the "Big Brother" article, which ends with a question (I hate that!), if I can speak for Eric Schmidt to whom the question should have been posed: It is just the beginning of technology and data analysis as means of solving the world's problems. Also, NPR says don't question Google. They defended the privacy rights of users against the Bush cabal. tjc

Hey man, I don't question Google. I love Google. All I'm saying is, with great power come great responsibility. jmj

I'm reluctant to admit it and I'm not sure what possessed me to do so but I watched the CMA's last night. I'm not a very big country fan. I didn't know any of the songs but I wanted to check it out none the less. Is it me or does every male singer in country music have exactly the same voice. They are all indistinguishable. And I must say Carrie Underwood's performance was the highlight of the show. A sad song though. eab

Joe and I have be known to play a game or two of handball. I proudly hold onto my, as yet, undefeated record. BURN! The point though is that Jake "The Snake" Plummer is quite the handball enthusiast himself. eab

Meet BURN-E. A story that unfolds as WALL-E does. It left me laughing out loud and reinforced the notion that I need to see WALL-E ASAP! As in pronto! (h/t - k to the o to the t to the key - naturally) eab

For the record, I'm 4 for 6 in my "Who Will Win" MLB post-season predictions and 6 for 6 in my "Who Should Win" predictions. In my eyes, the latter is more important. jmj

Rachel Maddow used the word meme twice on Tuesday (cue 6:50). Sweet! Oh, and by the way Congressman Brown, Hitler was not elected; he lost. He was appointed Chancellor after the election, and became a dictator after the President died. Stupid. (cue 3:50) jmj
