The Day of Reckoning
In the Beginning
On January 20, 2007, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) announced her candidacy for President. On that same day, Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) did the same.
And thus began the 2008 Presidential race.
For the past 22 months, the American public has been subjected to a 24 hour, around the clock, day in and day out look at the candidates and their personal lives.
There have been good moments and there have been bad moments, but most of all, there have been strange moments.
Down to the Wire
Although Senator Obama is enjoying a lead in swing states, it's come very clear that this race is far from over. Both candidates are still aggressively campaigning, with Senator Obama setting up camp in Ohio while Senator McCain has been hitting touring both Pennsylvania and Florida. And while it may be unlikely, but Senator McCain can still win this thing. Despite the many different scenarios that could possibly happen, however, McCain most likely needs to win Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio to take this thing. See for yourself.
The Hardest Part
Tom Petty said it best.
With early voting numbers projecting a record turnout this year at the polls, the lines in the past two weeks seem to have been never-ending. There have been problems galore, and I have a gut feeling that it will only get worse. Being mauled by a voting machine, however, isn't keeping me up at night.
Know your facts. Know where you're going. And, most importantly, know that what you do tomorrow will affect the next four years of your life.
