The "really" is because women already an NCAA volleyball as a sport. Do we really need two versions of it? It's a complete bs Title IX move to add more women athletics to collegiate sports. It would be like adding men's sand soccer in the spring.

You are correct about the gripe the male volleyball player would have more than wrestlers...but what about female wrestlers? The 2008 summer olympics proved that United States women dominate freestyle wrestling, but yet it is not available for collegiate competition.

Maybe if they wore bikinis...

Why the"Really?"?

Sand Volleyball proved during the olympics that it is the more popular sport for viewing. Thats why its being added, not Title IX.

Title IX may be the reason as to why its being added as 'women only' - leaving the men out of the sport ... those athletes have more of a gripe then the wrestlers do they not?

also doesnt beach volleyball have a rather successful professional league that may only get better with schools actually having programs.

as far as i know there isnt a professional wrestling league... at least not one on par with the popularity of beach volleyball.
