Utley's Corner

| Comments (0)

The Phillies/Mets rivalry has been renewed over the past couple of years with members of each team proclaiming themselves to be "the team to beat." To add to this, New York Mets announcer Gary Cohen of SNY dubbed the right field corner "Utley's Corner" this past weekend when the the Yankees' Brett Gardner hit a homerun to right field.

Earlier this month, Phillies second baseman Chase Utley went 5-14 in a series against the Mets with 3 homeruns to the oddly-shaped right field corner.

It's a little unorthodox to name part of the field after your main rival's star player, but I like it. [via crashburnalley]
