Here's another gem from our buddy Christopher D. Reilly - the blog 30 bucks a week is dedicated to documentation of spending $30 a week on groceries for two people living in Brooklyn, NY (yes, $15 each). There are some pretty cool ideas on home cooked vegetarian meals that are cheap, easy and most importantly, tasty!
Oh sweet bacon, is there anything you can't do? I submit that there is not. (ht - ws)
My apologies for the lack of posts this week; I'm on vacation in Miami Beach. I've been here for two days and have eaten about 12 empañadas. Delicious.
Upon arriving, the first thing I noticed in the Miami International Airport were works from last year's Four Freedoms exhibition at the Wolfsonian Museum on the campus of Florida International University. The exhibition was reinterpretation of Norman Rockwell's series of oil paintings.
The museum is closed on Wednesdays, so we're heading over there tomorrow. Then, it's off to Little Havana in Miami proper for some culture and more empañadas!
Oh, and I got engaged, too. That was good!

Behold the Bacon Explosion, the BBQ sausage recipe of all recipes. It's two pounds of bacon woven through and around two pounds of sausage and slathered in barbecue sauce. WOW!
Also, before you think the Bacon Explosion is a carelessly created meat sensation by a couple of back yard wanna be BBQ'ers, consider their response to a commenter who suggested microwaving the roll first to reduce overall cooking time:
Microwave??? Seriously? First, the proteins in the meats will bind around 140 degrees, so putting it on the smoker after that is pointless as it won't absorb any smoke flavor. This requires patience and some attention. It's not McDonald's.
